Bowls: JBA Masters Results

The highlight of the past weekend was the playing of the JBA Masters at Morningside Country Club.

BSC was honoured to have five players selected for the premier tournament. In the Veterans we had Tony Mazaris and Di Jerrard.

In the Open section we had Victor Siphali, Prince Neulonde and Jorge Ruiz-Mesa.

It was a very difficult competition with incredible bowls being played on very warm windy days.

Unfortunately we did not come home with any medals, but all players made us very proud. Well done BSC.

Jorge Ruiz-Mesa was awarded a JBA Meritorius Award for his contribution to the districts technical upgrade of all the JBA systems. Well done Jorge.

The other event over the past weekend was the Internal Novice tournament. Thiis was well attended with 22 players taking part. It was very well run by the coaches, Rodney Francis, Jacques de Villiers, Sipho Velimpini, and competition Secretary Alan van Dyk, not to mention all the helpers on the day.

The winner of this was Johan du Plessis and runner up Chippy Denyer. Congrats too the winners and to all who participated.
