The inaugural Bryanston Business Bowls tournament launched on Thursday 5th May was a great success. Six teams participated over a five-week period. A small beginning that will be the forerunner of a bigger Bryanston Business Bowls tournament in the future.
Participants included: four corporate teams, a team of BSC ‘Newbies’ and a team of ‘Golden Oldies’ from the retirement Village of Golden Harvest. Participants enjoyed the fastmoving two bowl trips format of eight ends, with ten-point scoring per end, played in under an hour and a half.
Each week the winners were awarded prizes, whilst enjoying great comradery and pizzas at the club house. Congratulations to the ‘Golden Oldies’, Frank Murray, Dave Arnison (BSC), Peter Pieterse and Jeff Sauls, who won the tournament.
Our thanks to Dave and Mel Arnison for their successful management of the first Bryanston Business Bowls Tournament. They received many compliments for the help and encouragement given to players new to bowls. Well done Dave and Mel!
