BSC's annual children's Christmas party

Updated: Jan 14, 2020

Held at the end of November on the grass lawns between the squash and tennis courts, we hosted just over 40 youngsters, including staff children and grandchildren.

While festive music played in the background, the excited children wasted no time in tucking into their treats and joining in a variety of games – the water balloons being a particular hit!

Midway through the festivities, Father Christmas (sounding amazingly similar to our own Jono Green) arrived – in an ice-cream van! He explained to the children that his Elves were busy repairing his sleigh (damaged after hitting hit a pothole), but that his Chief Helper, Simon, would help hand out an ice cream to everyone (parents included).

Before the day ended the children’s eyes lit up when Father Christmas sat himself down under a tree and began calling out the name of each child, to come up and receive a personalised present: a BSC-branded money box (tin), each with a few R5 coins to slot into the tins, to encourage the youngsters to save up for something special.
