Bowls birthday bashes in demand

Updated: Feb 25, 2021

In the last eight days, three people hosted their birthday celebrations on Bryanston Sports Club's bowling greens.

A "bowling birthday" means fun in the the great outdoors, while being catered to by the amazing BSC staff from a mouth-watering menu. Of course, the Club follows all Covid-19 regulations, provides all the equipment and there is no need to be a veteran bowler; facilitators guide guests who have never played before.

Keshia Mitchell organised a birthday celebration for the morning of Saturday ,13 February. “We had a great day and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves," she said. "A big thanks to the team at Bryanston Sports Club for the amazing experience.”

On the afternoon of Friday, 19th February, Joyce Velempini, wife of the Bowls club’s vice-president, Sipho, invited fifteen of her friends to her birthday celebration on the west green. After a brief introduction, she and her guests enjoyed the BSC bowls experience - so much so, that two of her guests have enrolled for next Saturday’s Coaching Clinic.

After the bowls, the guests enjoyed a variety of food platters prepared by the club’s caterers. The day ended with each of Joyce’s guests enjoying her delightful birthday cake.

Just one day after Joyce's celebration, a group of fly-fishing friends hosted Derek Manson’s birthday bash. Derek's big day ended after three hours of extremely competitive bowls, followed by snacks and drinks in the Club gardens outside the main clubhouse.

"My friends and I really enjoyed it; the instructors were very informative and helpful,I definitely would recommend a bowling day for a birthday or corporate event.”
