A bowls fun day with a difference

On the public holiday of 22 March, BSC members and guests - many who experienced the fun of bowls for the first time - played "golf" on the bowling greens.

Eighteen holes were set up on the two greens. Each rink had three players, one of whom was a new bowler. Every rink had a different set-up, requiring different disciplines: bowling through hoops, nearest the pin, around obstacles, and short and long holes. There were no prizes, just bowls with a difference. Two teams that led the field tied for first place. After the match, the bowlers enjoyed a meal and refreshments in the club house.

Congratulations to Dave and Mel Arnison who organised the event. Their initiative and hard work made sure the day was a huge success.

Bowls "golf" was a huge success.
